Civil liberties of children are under attack by the pro-spanking lobby, meaning anti-children's rights. Children have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, in the United States, and "equal protection of the laws". Natural law is ultimately biblical rights, in which case children have rights in this country, in a way little known to most adults. The Christian doctrine of mutual submission is natural law in the family home here in America.
It says in Colossians 3:20-21 KJV:
Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well-pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they become discouraged.
The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and refers to secure, vulnerable rest in the love and grace of parents, with parents sacrificing for children in the spirit that Christ sacrificed for His children, taking up the cross for one's child in the spirit that Christ sacrificed for His children, martyring oneself in the spirit that Christ sacrificed for His children...with children resting securely in the sacrifice of parents, listening to parents out of gratitude and thanksgiving for the sacrifice and selflessness of their parents. The Greek root word υπακουο uplifts the parenting traditions of ancient Hebrew culture, which were attachment-based in nature. Child nudity was legal everywhere in the biblical context, and for good reason - children needed to snuggle up next to mothers, in terms of skin-to-skin contact, with mothers also being unclothed in a domestic setting. Children up to age 3 were swaddled to the bosom of mothers, and breastfed until then or else older. Children were allowed to be themselves in relation to parents, with parents bearing the brunt of children's rambunctious energy, listening to the every upset and petition of redress of grievances from children, allowing reverent rebellion of children against parents, meaning children ruled parents from beneath, and despite their role as resting beneath parents, they were outspoken about their needs, in a way perceived as convicting, striking reverent terror and fear into children.
The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizp) and literally translates to "stirring up" anger and upset in children, referring to the Jewish adage of "stirring the pot" in terms of your child's emotional well-being. This is a command handed down by the Apostle Paul from God prohibiting corporal punishment, first in the Colossian church, and for all time since this is Holy Writing. Punitive parenting then included corporal punishment, as Greco-Roman parenting was heavily reliant on corporal punishment, including spanking for teenage girls who were "unchaste". Paul, alongside the delivery of the Epistle, handed out attachment parenting pamphlets to the parents in the church community, educating them about the attachment parenting that was traditional in ancient Hebrew culture. Punitive parenting and abuse was ultimately determined by the slightest of personal offense perceived by the child, coming from a place of parental entitlement.
Corporal punishment was not allowed in the Old Testament for anyone under the age of majority, meaning no child could be whipped. Only adult children were whipped, usually for kidnapping or incest in the form of child abuse, meaning grandparents stepped in and administered 40 minus 1 lashes as a warning that the abuser of children would be put to death. This was not the ordinance of the Early Christian Churches of God, meaning child abuse was generally kidnapping, meaning a collective offense, meaning gaining the attention of the whole church community, and once confronted publicly, if they refused to admit or else defended their abuse, they were excommunicated and shunned. Excommunicated meant no longer a part of the Church body, and shunned means not associating with someone to the point of speech. Shunning today is an individual procedure that presumes innocence beyond a reasonable doubt beforehand. I myself shun individuals who show a parent, meaning a pro-spanking parent usually, but allow family members back into my church who drop the subject, but not friends, meaning if you are on my friends list, and you show as that kind of parent, goodbye forever, as you just lost a friend. No free admission of a pro-spanking parent with me.
Natural law is biblical law, meaning God's Law, as imposed on a specific Christian nation. America is a Christian nation, founded on Judeo-Christian family values. Little do most parents know, such values support attachment parenting. Attachment parenting is the customary law of the land, no matter how accepted it is, because punishing a child is unacceptable to God, and will always be, until the end of time. Striking a child was always wrong in our Creator's eyes. Children have civil liberties too, and the Fourteenth Amendment mandates "equal protection of the laws" which will, in time, evolve to include children, just as it has with everyone else, in terms of assault and battery protections of children. Assault and battery laws existed in the Early Christian context under Jewish law, and children were protected as well.
The physical law will catch up, eventually, with natural law, with my home state of Pennsylvania naturally headed towards a spanking ban. Until that happens, what we can do is elevate the natural law and show it to parents, educating parents on the fact that the Bible, which is America's book as the most Christian country on earth, prohibits spanking and corporal punishment. We have always went by natural law in this country, and always will, but have evolved in our understanding in terms of scope of protection under natural law.
The depraved and entitled parents will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Corporal punishment shall not exist within the several United States and territories, and if you identify as a parent by such depravity, YOU shall not exist, but since murder is wrong, lock the parents up and throw away the key. As for the children? We haven't thought that far. Kill every parent, validate every victim. Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!

2. Imposes want to the point of imposition, meaning entitlement.
3. Contains self-entitled parent rhetoric, to the point of self-victimization
will not be published. Flexible application. Debate is allowed, but only civil arguments that presume the best of intentions in their opponent, on both sides.
