Most people blame pedophiles for the epidemic of child sexual abuse in America. This is a common hatred amongst parents. Most parents believe that child sexual abuse comes from external threats only, and not from internal threats like one's own sinful nature as a parent. The fact of the matter is that parents are culpable for most child sexual abuse. What drives them? The Freudian theory of the electra complex perfectly explains why most child sexual abuse occurs.
Every single adult is capable of child sexual abuse, as every single adult is capable of sexual fantasy about their child. Parents are at heightened risk of sexually abusing a child due to having more contact with children. Most parents who abuse their children sexually are fathers or else father figures. Most of the time, the abuser has either repressed sexual thoughts about their child, or else did not know the boundaries between parents and children.
The electra complex starts at around age 3, where young girls start developing sexual feelings for their fathers. Fathers, at the same time, start developing sexual feelings for their children, usually girls. In the Early Church, this dynamic existed in Christian homes, and the dynamic was seen as mutually unrequited. Fathers masturbated to thoughts of sexual relations with their daughters, but didn't go further than that.
Mothers in biblical times dealt with the issue of parent attraction by sleeping next to their children for as long as she could, in order to guard the children from the father's sexual entitlement. Most child sexual abuse occurred by way of the daughter acting in a tempting way towards her father. Think the story of Lot and his daughters.
If you are a father, you need to find that sweet spot for your daughter in masturbation.
