Life. Liberty. Pursuit of happiness. (the rights of children)

Many parents think that children don't have rights, because "children's rights can mean anything". It only means what the child wants it to mean. We have children's rights engraved into our way of life here in the United States already. Life. Liberty. Pursuit of happiness. Especially the last two, with the first one implied.

Children's civil liberties are based off of the duties of adults towards children. The key word denoting civil liberties in the negative is πλεονέκτης (Latin: pleonektés) and refers to unlawful intent towards children under the Tenth Commandment, wanting things from children to the point of seeking to impose said want onto a child, leading to an offense perceived by the child or a defense when the offender is cited.

Ensuring civil liberties for children is fighting against our natural parental entitlement, meaning seeking to want nothing from children, instead politely asking them with gracious gratitude what we want of them. Don't we all want something from children, being the flawed and entitled adults that we are?

The UN Convention for the Rights of the Child is a lost hope, but a guide for children's rights practices within the United States. However, most Americans can relate to the natural rights already recognized by most Americans. Benjamin Franklin was the writer of the American Declaration of Independence, and he was part of a religious sect known as the Religious Society of Friends, or Quakers, and Quakers ALWAYS supported the rights of children and treated children as equals. Civil liberties were likely seen by Franklin as for children as well, but in a future context where there would be world peace. But, Benjamin Franklin was the quintessential pro-child adult. Thus, anti-spanking attitudes were central to founding this country.

I want nothing from a child, even what I really do want viscerally. A child owes me nothing, and I owe a child everything. I avoid children because I might not be the best person to be around them.

Let liberty ring for children, for they are the most oppressed group of people on the planet! Let the children's rights deniers burn in Hell! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
