Pro-social deification, pro-social child worship: Why biblical times were child worshipping times

Many parents believe that biblical times were harsh on children. The belief is that there was child labor and such, with children being whipped into shape by their parents. None of this is true. Not only were children treated with love and respect, but they were worshipped by their parents, and by society.. Pro-social deification, pro-social child worship.

Jesus Christ said in Matthew 25:45-46 KJV:

Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not unto the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

This commandment lays out the framework for pro-social child worship. Whatever you don't do for children, you don't do for God. The groups mentioned previously in this commandment were simply the groups that Christ's Jewish culture failed to take care of. Children were not on that list, as they were among those already well taken care of. Children were seen as among the "least of these" in biblical times.

It says in Colossians 3:20-21 KJV:

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and refers to secure, vulnerable rest in the love and grace of parents. Parents are to be extensions of Christ in the family home, with parents sacrificing for their children, just as Christ sacrificed for His children, with parents surrendering to and submitting to a Godhead which is children, and children resting safely and securely in such submission. Attachment parenting was the established norm in Ancient Judeo-Christian culture. Attachment parenting was mandated in Ancient Israel under Jewish customary law, and was mandated in the Early Church under Christian ordinance. This commandment lifts up the attachment parenting context for the relevance of all.

The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizo) and refers to damages or offenses, namely the slightest of personal offense perceived by the child, including, but not limited to, the slightest of offensive touch or speech perceived by the child, coming from entitlement. This commandment was intended by the Apostle Paul, and understood in the context in which it was given, as a moral statute prohibiting all forms of punitive parenting, including any form of punishment or controlling demeanor towards children. Patrias potestas is translated from the Latin as "power to the father" or else "power to the parent", and refers to a father's right under Roman law to use as much force to police his home as he saw fit. There was no analogous law under the Judeo-Christian law of the time. In the Old Testament, punitive parents were put to death by way of bloodletting, after punishing their children too many times, and receiving many warnings beforehand that their parenting habits were out of compliance with the Law. Punitive parents were charged with kidnapping, which meant any damages or offenses stemming from hostage-taking - punishment of children was seen then as holding a child hostage for things they did wrong. Paul was lifting up this moral legal context to a group of Greek Christians who brought their pagan custom of spanking and punishing children into the church. No such custom existed among the Early Christians. The Early Christians shunned all violence, including within the family. The only exception was mutual accountability between spouses, which occurred rarely next to non-existent. Wives were considered legal subjects under the rule of their husbands, whereas children were seen as not subject to the Law at all. Parents kept the Law for their children until they were old enough to keep it on their own.

The national parenting of the Ancient Jewish people, including the Early Christians, was a special, distinct form of attachment parenting that deified children, in the form of pro-social deification and pro-social child worship. Children in biblical times were worshipped and venerated as extensions of God, with parents being struck with reverent fear and terror for their child's every vulnerable need, with parents being compelled in the Lord to surrender to and submit to their children and their every vulnerable need, with parents being the enemy of children, just as mankind is the enemy of God, and is to be subsequent as such. Children could give lawful and binding orders as to their every vulnerable need, with parents heeding the every demand and order of children. Children could take their parents to court, in which case the case was already settled - in favor of the child.

The Greek root word denoting how parents felt about their children is ψοβός (Latin: phobos) and refers to reverent fear, meaning the reverent spark that prompts a sinner to redeem themselves. Children were that influential in the lives of parents in biblical times. Parents then did not feel parent anger towards their children, and so they were at least a bit afraid of a crying and screaming child, and instinctively wanted to comfort them. Parents then could not get angry at their children, as that switch was turned off. Any parent that could was seen as a viper or a monster of some sort, and was seen as deserving of death just for getting angry at children. Parents reverently feared their children like they did God.

Children in biblical times were worshipped by parents allowing the child to direct their own needs. The righteous assumption was that parents didn't know what the child needed apart from what they indicated in crying and upsets. Children could make demands and cry in order to get what they needed, and parents would usually just go along with what the child said they needed, or else diagnose an infant's cries based on the pitch of the cry. Parents idealized their children in reverent terms, seeing children as holy and godly in nature, with children being seen as the "least of these" being revered and feared FOR their vulnerability, not despite it.

The depraved and entitled parents who provoke their children to anger through punitive parenting will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Let them be forever cast in the lake of fire and burning sulfur, which is the second death prepared for Satan and his accomplices! Let them descend into the abyss which is the ever-burning Hell of fire and torment, suffering God's Wrath forever and ever! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
