Why the Bible recommends skin-to-skin closeness with children

Many parents think a crying child above a certain age is worthy of punishment. This is a common misconception, often backed up by a misuse of the Bible to justify that form of abuse of children. The fact of the matter is that the Bible states that skin-to-skin closeness is a valid way to raise a child.

The core of any Christian parenting relationship is Christian love, as denoted by the Greek root word αγαπαο (Latin: agapao), and refers to prioritizing children first, and yourself as a parent last, in a convicted way leading to dutiful and selfless submission to children and their every need, expecting absolutely nothing in return, with children resting safely and securely in parents. See Colossians 3:20-21 KJV:

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and refers to secure, vulnerable rest in the love and grace of parents. This form of respect does not come from fearful compliance, but from restful trust in parents, with children being able to tell parents anything and everything that is on their mind, including admissions of wrongdoing or misunderstood traits, and expect absolutely no punishment or reprisal in return. Attachment parenting was the established norm in Ancient Israel and the Early Church, with children being wrapped up in swaddling blankets next to their mother's bosom, and being breastfed until age 3. Children never left the line of sight of parents then, and children up until age 6 never left the side of mothers.

The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizo) and refers to damages or abuse, namely child abuse in this context. Child abuse, under biblical law, is defined, at minimum, as the slightest of personal offense perceived by the child, including the slightest of offensive touch or speech perceived by the child, coming from entitlement. In this commandment, the Apostle Paul was lifting up the Law against punishment and controlling demeanor, rebuking Greek Christian parents who brought their pagan custom of spanking children into the church, with such parents misusing the book of Proverbs to justify their abuse even then. The Apostle Paul would have none of it, and warned the parents, in vs. 21, that Proverbs is wisdom literature, not a book giving parenting commands. The Apostle Paul was anti-spanking, and opposed punishing a child for anything. The false and abusive teaching of "biblical spanking" doesn't even come from the Bible, but from Greco-Roman pagan bias in translating the Bible. The Roman Catholic Church bartered with the European pagan tribes, allowing them their spanking culture, pandering to their biases instead of following the context.

When children cry, there is a quick solution that works every time, and is a warm and comforting replacement to spanking. Mothers, when your child cries, no matter how old they are, hold them to the top of your bosom, in skin-to-skin closeness, and have them confide and confess everything into you. Holding children at the top of your bosom makes them feel listened to in a warm and reassuring way.

Children went completely naked in biblical times, everywhere they went. Mothers also went naked, but only in the confines of the family home. Mothers snuggled with children, and held them, all while both mother and child was in the nude, in complete skin-to-skin closeness and intimacy, in total bliss! Children of any age could snuggle with mothers, and it helped form a secure parent-child bond with mothers.

The depraved and entitled parents who provoke children to anger will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Let them be cast into the lake of fire and burning sulfur, which is the second death prepared for Satan and his accomplices! Let them descend into the abyss which is the ever-burning Hell of fire and torment, suffering God's Wrath forever and ever! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
