Most parents in this country abuse their children, with 94% of parents punishing and controlling their children through physical means. The letter of the secular law allows for punishment of children. However, America is a Christian nation, and thus God's Law is above the law of the land. Thus, spanking is already banned, as God's Word commands against spanking, yelling, and other forms of punishment and control of a child.
It says Colossians 3:21 KJV:
Children, obey your parents, as is well-pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they become discouraged.
The Greek root word translated υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and refers to a child surrendering to parents prompted by parents surrendering their false authority over children, and becoming a mere caregiver instead. The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizo) and literally translates to "stir up" or "upset" and refers to damages, namely pain, shame, emotional distress, loss of property/tokens, defamation of character, and/or fornication. The Greek root word translated αθυμέω (Latin: athumeo) and refers to long term damages, namely evidenced by a diagnosis of PTSD for childhood trauma.
Parenting in the biblical context was attachment-based, with children remaining close to their mother especially, clinging onto her in a papoose bag, or else ranging beside her. Boys went to their father's homeschool at age 6, and learned self-control through co-regulation. Discipline was as described in another anti-punishment verse. It says in Ephesians 6:4 KJV:
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
The Greek root word translated "nurture" is παιδεία (Latin: paideia) and refers to self-discipline and self-control, guided by a homeschool education based on Socratic reasoning, meaning children in the early Christian had the right to think for themselves, meaning question what their fathers taught them.
Spanking is banned here in Pennsylvania, here in the United States, and on this earth. The depraved and entitled parents who provoke children to anger will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!

2. Imposes want to the point of imposition, meaning entitlement.
3. Contains self-entitled parent rhetoric, to the point of self-victimization
will not be published. Flexible application. Debate is allowed, but only civil arguments that presume the best of intentions in their opponent, on both sides.
