Birth nudity: Why birth nudity is part of the American Christian tradition

Many parents think that children should wear clothing. This is seen as commonsense. Most American parents insist that their children wear clothing, and then they wear clothing too. The American model of family modesty is based not off of the Bible, but the Anglo-Saxon concept of Christianity, which is very flawed in nature. It is important for children to be naked during their childhood, as it is good for child development and parental bonding. The Bible agrees, when understood in context.

Birth nudity helps parents form a secure attachment with their child. A secure attachment is the core understanding of the Christian doctrine of mutual submission in parenting. See Colossians 3:20-21 KJV:

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and refers to secure, vulnerable rest in the love and submission of parents. Children are to rest securely in the sacrifice of parents, just as parent believers rest securely in the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. This commandment was intended by the Apostle Paul as lifting up the customary law that commands a secure attachment between parent and child in the family home. This secure attachment comes from parent submission, where parents submit to children while expecting absolutely nothing in return.

The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizo)  and refers to damages or offenses, namely the slightest of personal offense perceived by a child, including, but not limited to, the slightest of offensive touch or speech perceived by a child, stemming from entitlement. This commandment was intended by the Apostle Paul, and understood in it original context, as a moral statute prohibiting all forms of punitive parenting, including any punishments or controlling demeanor towards children. In the Old Testament, punitive parents were put to death by way of bloodletting, after punishing their children one last time. Parents who punished their children were charged with kidnapping, with "kidnapping" being defined under the Law as the slightest of damages or offenses stemming from hostage-taking - child punishment was seen as holding your child hostage merely for things that they did wrong, thereby treating your child as a quartered slave. Paul here was lifting up the Law in order to convict a group of Greek Christian parents who brought their pagan custom of spanking and punishment into the church. Paul, contrary to popular legend, was anti-spanking, and opposed any and all punishment of a child in his writings.

Birth nudity is a Christian tradition dating back to the Early Church. Children, for the first 6 years of childhood, were in constant closeness to mothers. The Early Christians practiced birth nudity, meaning both mother and child were in the nude next to each other, in skin-on-skin closeness and intimacy. Children, for the entire duration of their childhood, were completely naked, wherever they went. Mothers were naked in the family home, in order to serve both their children and their husbands. This nudity created the traction necessary for making skin-on-skin bonding easier.

Children went completely naked in the family home, and this brought out the parents' natural instincts towards children, meaning the nurturing instinct of both the mother and the father. Mothers nurtured up close, with sustaining warmth. Fathers nurtured from afar, encouraging discipline and family values in children. Children never were expected to wear clothing...This context can only be applied with some tweaking, as the law of the land prohibits public nudity even of children.

When out and about, mothers wore a loose fitting, revealing dress that resembled an apron. Mothers, in the case of young children - under age 6 - they swaddled children next to their bosom in swaddling blankets. The child was tucked under the dress, with one side of the swaddling blankets tied to the left breast of the mother, and from there it was tied across the dot to the right leg of the mother, or vice versa, or both in the case of twins. Mothers frequently breastfed in public, and mothers were, in fact, encouraged to breastfeed in public to show that they are making the right choices behind the scenes. Only married mothers wore a dress. Divorced mothers went completely naked wherever they went, wearing only the swaddling blankets on their front end.

Fathers may feel a bit of parent attraction towards children if the woman of the house follows my advice. It is normal for fathers to feel parent attraction, especially towards their daughters, but also maybe their sons. The key to dealing with parent attractions as a father is righteous masturbation and righteous avoidance. First, know that merely approaching your child for sexual or flirtatious purposes could condemn you to eternity in Hell. Then, re-channel those sexual desires for your child into masturbatory fantasy. Masturbation, alongside aversion imagery (ex. eternity in Hell), centers your secondary sexual attractions for your child so that it comes out as a male nurturing instinct. You may just find yourself agreeing with the woman of the house about parenting, if you doubted her intuition before.

America is a Christian nation, founded upon Judeo-Christian family values. Our traditions come from the Bible, as understood in context. We now have a better understanding of that context. and now know that it is an attachment parenting context. This colors the text of the Bible, and helps us understand better the actual traditions of this country. Nowhere in our Christian heritage does it legitimately say to strike a child. Maybe some Hebraic poetry in Proverbs alludes to judicial corporal punishment, and Hebrews mentions it in passing as a metaphor for God's discipline, but humans are errant, and thus should parent as comes naturally, meaning attachment parenting.

The depraved and entitled parents who provoke their children to anger through punitive parenting will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Let them forever be cast into the lake of fire and burning sulfur, which is the second death prepared for Satan and his accomplices! Let them descend into the abyss which is the Hell of fire and torment, suffering God's Wrath day and night forever and ever! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
