Original sin: Why adults were born in sin

The Christian doctrine of original sin is one of the most misunderstood and misused of Christian teachings. Yet, at the same time, it is the backbone of Christianity. Without original sin, there would be no need for a Christ. Many parents think that their children were born in sin, and punish them based on that belief. The fact of the matter is that the true doctrine of original sin states that we ALL are born in sin. So, why not focus on our own sins as adults?

The doctrine of original sin is found in the Bible. See Romans 3:9-18 KJV:

What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they have together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, no one. Their throat is an open sepulchre, with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace they have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.

This passage was written to Roman Christians in the 1st Century. The Roman Christians were becoming very prideful and boastful in their Christian beliefs, believing that they were the righteous ones. The Apostle Paul was convicting them of their original sin by comparing them, in list format, to the Roman pagans. Today, this passage is a testament to how God feels about humanity. God hates all mankind, so much that He does not want us to even exist. All mankind, by default, is marked for deletion. Only a few individuals - the elect - will be rewarded in Heaven for their good works. The rest will perish by the second death, which is the lake of fire and burning sulfur prepared for Satan and his accomplices. Adult-kind is especially culpable for their one-sided incursions against child-kind. All adults are deserving of nothing but DEATH and PUNISHMENT merely for existing in relation to children and the God that protects them. Many will be called to be Christians, but few will be chosen for the Kingdom of God.

The Greek root word denoting entitlement, including parental entitlement, and cross-referencing the Tenth Commandment, is πλεονέκτης (Latin: pleonektés) and is defined as, officially speaking, wanting things from children, to the point of imposition. Unofficially speaking, parental entitlement refers to wanting things from children, period. Parental entitlement is the lowest entitlement in our entitlements as adults. Most entitlement in parenting comes from a deserving place in relation to children, where adults take an attitude that they are deserving of things from children. YOU, as the parent, are a depraved and decadent sinner deserving of absolutely nothing in relation to children. As you center your parental entitlement, all the other forms of entitlement go away with the parental entitlement. Want is the core of our sin nature as human beings, and wants from children are at the core of our sin nature as adults.

What washes away sin more than anything in parents? Christian love is all you need! Christian love is denoted by the Greek root word αγαπαο (Latin: agapao) and refers to, in the context of parenting, prioritizing children first, and yourself last, to the point of dutiful and selfless submission to children as you would God, expecting absolutely nothing in return. True Love does not come from pride or desire, but from fearful conviction, where parents are convicted of the fact that they are depraved and decadent sinners deserving of absolutely nothing. This conviction leads to a sense of worthlessness in the parent, prompting the parent to earn their worth by perform good works for their children. In return, children rest safely and securely in the love and submission of parents. See Colossians 3:20-21 KJV:

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and refers to secure, vulnerable rest in the love and grace of parents. Children are to rest securely in the sacrifice of parents, just as parent believers rest securely in the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Parents are to be extensions of Christ in the family home, dutifully and selflessly submitting to children as they would God, expecting absolutely nothing in return, with children resting safely and securely in the submission of parents. Parents are to submit to children as their enemy, from beneath yet from above, revering and fearing children as vulnerable extensions of God.

The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizo) and refers to damages or offenses, namely the slightest of personal offense perceived by a child, including, but not limited to, the slightest of offensive touch or speech perceived by a child, stemming from entitlement. This commandment was understood by the Apostle Paul, and understood in its original context, as a moral statute prohibiting all forms of punitive parenting, including any punishments or controlling demeanor towards children. In the Old Testament, punitive parents were put to death by way of bloodletting, after punishing their children one last time. Parents who punished their children were charged with kidnapping, with "kidnapping" being defined under the Law as the slightest of damages or offenses stemming from hostage-taking - child punishment was seen in biblical times as holding your child hostage merely for things that they did wrong, thereby treating children as a quartered slave. Paul here was lifting up the Law in order to convict a group of Greek Christian parents who brought their pagan custom of spanking and punishing children into the church. Paul. contrary to popular legend, was anti-spanking, and opposed any and all punishment of a child.

Children, in biblical times, were viewed very differently than children are today. Children were seen as sacrosanct, meaning they could do not wrong in the eyes of adults, even if they engaged in behavior that was considered immoral under the Law. Children were not bound by the Law, but instead were cut a break for learning the Law. Adults were the ones convicted of their original sin, and a Christian parent in the Early Church was more apt to point out their flaws than their strengths as a parent.

Children, in biblical times, wore absolutely no clothing, at all, until they became adults. Women only wore clothing when outside the home, and otherwise went in the nude, in order to serve their husbands and their children, separately. Mothers served their children by way of providing for them nourishment and sustenance, namely attachment parenting items such as breastfeeding and skin-on-skin comfort. Children, up until age 6, never left the side of their mother, and instead ranged beside her, clinging to her when they were crying or upset. When children were crying or upset, mothers held them close to their bosom in skin-on-skin format, reassuring children with the phrase "this too will pass". When out and about, children were worn by mothers in swaddling clothing, with children maybe offered to suckle her teat if the child was milk-hungry. By night, children co-slept next to mothers in skin-on-skin format in order to form a secure attachment with her, and also to protect children from all predatory threats, including the sexual entitlement of fathers. Fathers also formed a secure attachment to their children, by way of witnessing skin-on-skin closeness and intimacy between mothers and children, wanting in on the action by way of sexual attachment. Fathers imprinted on their children by way of masturbatory orgasm. This pro-social fantasy by fathers about their children led to a close bond between father and child, usually with this relationship being silly and playful in nature, growing encouraging of bold feats of independence as the child grows older. Fathers were only allowed access to children in Christian homes in the Bible with the permission of mothers.

The depraved and entitled parents who provoke children to anger by way of punitive parenting will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Let them be forever cast into the lake of fire and burning sulfur, which is the second death prepared for Satan and his accomplices! Let them descend into the abyss which is the ever-burning Hell of fire and torment, suffering God's Wrath forever and ever! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
