Defiance: Why the fetal position cures defiance instantly

Many parents have been there, if not all. A child defying them ardently. This is a common experience for American parents. Most American parents have had their child defy them, if not all. Most parents punish children for defying their authority. However, parents in biblical times gave children what they really need - the fetal position with mom.

The fetal position is understood in terms of the Christian doctrine of mutual submission. Parents provide warmth and sustenance, and children rest securely in that warmth and sustenance. See Colossians 3:20-21 KJV:

Children, obey your psrents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and refers to secure, vulnerable rest in the love and grace of parents. Children are to rest in the sacrifice of parents, just as parent believers rest securely in the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Parents are to be extensions of Christ in the family home, dutifully and selflessly submitting to children just as they would to God, expecting absolutely nothing in return, with children resting safely and securely in the submission of parents. Parents are to submit to children as their enemy, from beneath yet from above, revering and fearing children as vulnerable extensions of God.

The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizo) and refers to damages or offenses, namely the slightest of personal offense perceived by a child, including, but not limited to, the slughtest of offensive touch or speech percevied by a child, stemming from entitlement. This commandment was intended by the Apostle Paul, and understood in its original context, as a moral statute prohibiting all forms of punitive parenting, including any punishments or controlling demeanor towards children. In the Old Testament, punitive parents were put to death by way of bloodletting, after punishing their children one last time. Parents who punished their children were charged with kidnapping, with "kidnapping" being defined under the Law as the slightest of damages or offenses stemming from hostage-taking - child punishment was seen in biblical times as holding your child hostage merely for things that they did wrong, thereby treating your child as a quartered slave. Paul here was lifting up the Law in order to convict a group of Greek Christian parents who brought their pagan custom of spanking and punishing children into the church. Paul, contrary to popular legend, was anti-spanking, and opposed any and all punishment of a child.

Mothers, in biblical times, provided for children nourishment and sustenance, namely attachment parenting items such as breastfeeding and skin-on-skin comfort. Sometimes, children were defiant, maybe even aggressive. Mothers in biblical times did not punish their children for defiance. Instead, they picked up the child, and curled up next to the child on the ground, in the fetal position. This process contined until the child was completely de-escalated. The fetal position was the go-to strategy for mothers in biblical times when their child was completely and utterly defiant, in order to calm down and reassure the child.

The fetal position can be replicaed today by way of mothers picking up their children, when at home, and curling up next to children in the fetal position. When out and about in public, take the defiant child to the ladies' room and curl up with him/her on the floor of a stall, in the fetal position. Defiance at bedtime should be prevented by co-sleeping, which often takes the form of children snuggling in the fetal position next to mothers. When you first use the fetal position in managing defiance, know that the child will turn from defiant to crying, and then to calm and cozy. This is because the fetal position infantilizes the child in a way that makes them feel safe with you.

Defiance comes from a child not feeling heard. The best way a mother can reassure a child that they are being heard is to place them in the fetal position next to her. Maybe the child won't get what they want, but they will get what they need in order to calm them down and reassure them. Punishments such as spankings and time-outs won't curb defiance, but will only make tt worse. You need to curl up next to your child in the fetal position. This calms the child down in due time.

The depraved and entitled parents who provoke children to anger through punitive parenting will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Let them be forever cast into the lake of fire and burning sulfur, which is the second death prepared for Satan and his accomplices! Let them descend into the abyss which is the ever-burning Hell of fire and torment, which is the second death prepared for Satan and his accomplices! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
