Why attachment parenting is in our heritage as a country

Many conservative adults in particular hate the idea of banning spanking because it will "take away our traditions". The argument is "how do we pass down our traditions"? The fact of the matter is that attachment parenting is an American tradition, since it is, in fact, commanded in the Bible.

America is a Christian nation, founded on Judeo-Christian family values, and violence and punishment towards children are not family values. The Bible is America's book, and attachment parenting is a biblical concept. Our heritage as a country is the Bible and the values contained therein, and that includes the attachment parenting that is commanded.

Every single parent and adult is guilty in relation to children, and is deserving of DEATH and DESTRUCTION merely for existing in relation to children, with parents/adults being meek and shamefaced in relation to children. Parents especially are to esteem and prioritize their child's needs above themselves, to the point of complete dutiful and selfless submission to the every vulnerable need of children, with this being unconditional Chistian love denoted by the Greek root word αγαπαο (Latin: agapao). Children are to be allowed to rest in the love and grace of parents. See Colossians 3:20-21 KJV:

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and refers to secure, vulnerable rest in the love and grace of parents. Attachment parenting was the norm in biblical times, with mothers holding their children close by wrapping them up in swaddling blankets, with children nurtured in maternal sustenance, being swaddled and held next to the bosom of mothers, feeling safe and secure in the mother's presence until adulthood. Children should be allowed to rest in the love and grace of parents, being able to tell parents anything and everything under the sun, not fearing any punishment or reprisal from parents.

The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizo) and refers to provocations to anger, as defined as the slightest of personal offense perceived by the child, including the slightest of unwanted touch perceived by the child. This commandment was intended by the Apostle Paul and the surrounding legal context to prohibit all punitive parenting, including punishment and controlling measures such as spanking or corporal punishment. Paul here was rebuking Greek Christians who brought their pagan custom of spanking children into the church, then justifying their views with Scripture, namely the book of Proverbs. The seven verses in Proverbs that depict the rod of correction are repealed verses, as they reference a dated form of judicial corporal punishment culturally and legally unique to the Old Testament - the 40 minus 1 lashes with the rod of correction, which was administered to an ADULT child who committed a capital offense, as a summary punishment, with the punishment being administered in the courtroom. Minor children could not be held legally responsible for any criminal act or civil wrong that they committed. The rod of correction is mentioned in Hebrews 12:5-11, but in a figurative way that refers to enduring hardship. In ancient Hebrew culture, the rod of correction was a common analogy to enduring hardship that causes you to grow from a rough patch in life. Literally whipping anyone was against church ordinance in the Early Church, and was seen as unlawful and entitled.

We are learning more and more about our values as a country as time progresses. We learned that slavery and Jim Crow were morally wrong and against our values for not including black and brown people into our society. We can further expand on our knowledge of our values by including children into our society, as children are a part of our society. In order to do that, we need to remove all weapons of oppression from the hands of adults, meaning prohibit all corporal punishment and anything that the child perceives as abuse.

Attachment parenting is part of our Judeo-Christian values as a country, as our main source of wisdom as a society is the Bible. Attachment parenting is part of the context. God chose Israel, an attachment parenting society, and then spread Judeo-Christian values around the world, creating Western civilization. Western civilizations have long been hard on children, and that is because they don't know their true values on dealing with children. We as a country are a Christian nation, and true Christianity supports attachment parenting.

The depraved and entitled parents who provoke children to anger will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Let them burn in the lake of fire and burning sulfur, which is the second death prepared for Satan and his accomplices! Let them descend into the Hell of fire and torment, suffering God's Wrath for all eternity! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!

The word "no": Why children need to hear the word "no" seldom (meaning almost never)
