Pro-social demand, pro-social overpower: The booming, godly voice of children

Many parents want a child who is perfect, meaning innocent. The idea is for children to remain quiet and innocent little "creatures" while adults overpower them. The fact of the matter is that children overpowered their parents, toppling over them to get their needs met.

The doctrine of mutual surrender states in Colossians 3:20-21 KJV:

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they become discouraged.

The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and refers to trust in parents. Replace "obey" with "trust" and you roughly come to a better translation of the Bible. This is a special kind of trust borne out of maternal warmth and sustenance, with children sleeping next to parents until adulthood and even into adulthood. It was a form of trust based on perceived safety and security in parents, where children felt completely safe to use their parents as a projectile board, overpowering them with convicting cries and demands for their needs, striking reverent terror and fear into the sinful hearts of parents.

The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizo) and refers to provocations to anger, meaning all offenses against children, with "offense" defined as the slightest of personal offenses perceived by the child, stemming from parental entitlement. This was intended by the Apostle Paul and the legal context he was writing to as a prohibition of all punitive parenting, including punishment such as spanking and corporal punishment of children, alongside all punishment of children. Paul here was rebuking Greek Christian parents who were punitive parents towards their children, as Roman law offered a legal defense for parents who spanked and punished their children, whereas Jewish law did not have such a defense. Parents who punished their children under Jewish law, including the Early Church, were prosecuted for either theft or kidnapping, but more likely kidnapping due to the hostage-taking nature of punishing children. Any controlling or punitive attitudes then were seen as entitlement, and thus parental entitlement also must be denied by the Christian, and not embraced in real life.

Children toppled over their parents in biblical times, meaning overpowered them with rule and menace from beneath. The tiny, vulnerable voice of a child was seen as a convicting voice that would bring a parent to tears, when children confronted them with such a voice. Children were seen as extensions of God, meaning divine altars to God, and to dishonor a child was to dishonor and desecrate an altar to God, with parents being struck with reverent terror and fear for their child's needs, with children directing the show, and parents merely attending to and providing for children, like a waitress or flight attendant, serving children at table, holding and opening doors for children, and showing due chivalry otherwise. Chivalry in parenting is seeing yourself as your child's enemy, seeking to be their friend, knowing you will never get there fully due to being the entitled adult that you are. Adults will never again know what it is like to be a child, as age corrupts. 

Children have an opinion, and so they should have the right to petition their needs and a redress of grievances to parents and other adults, but especially parents. This means making demands like a concerned citizen to their representative, with parents being the first representatives of their child, simply appointed by God to be a servant to their child, just as a state or United States representative is a servant to the public. Children, however, should get most of what they want from their representatives, and have very little denied. Children ask for stuff because they know where it comes from - YOU as the parent. If there is no money, substitute with time together, maybe a walk in the neighborhood or a scenic drive, or maybe a walk or trip to the park. Positive, quality time together is what children need with parents, but buying everything for them in the form of pro-social child worship works as well, if you are well off and rich, or else have a decent amount. Only turn a child down when a want is unattainable or unsafe. 

The depraved and entitled parents and adults who provoke children to anger will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Let them burn in the lake of fire and burning sulfur, which is the second death prepared for Satan and his accomplices! Let the entitled parents descend into the abyss of Hell and torment, suffering God's Wrath for all eternity! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
