Many parents think they have to have some narcissism reserved for their children, meaning no entitlement. Most parents think they have the right to spank and punish children. Be a martyr for your child. Lay down everything for your child.
Christianity is a religion, when practiced correctly, is one that echoes martyrdom with martyrdom, meaning Christ martyred Himself, taking up the cross for His children, and so should we for our children as Christians. Christian is a hyphenated referral to the Christ, the Redeemer, meaning one who sacrifices for His nation, the Jewish nation. He is the Messiah, who takes it further, being the figurative general who calls the shots in a peaceful revolution against Rome to further Judeo-Christian values.
It says in Colossians 3:20-21 KJV:
Children, obey your parent in all things: for this is well-pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and literally translates to "rest under" meaning secure, vulnerable rest and trust in the love and grace of parents, sharing absolutely anything and everything under the sun with parents. Parents are to martyr themselves for their children, sacrifice for their children just as Christ did, take up the cross in the spirit that Christ did for His children, expecting absolutely nothing in return, with children resting securely in such sacrificial love from parents, with love from parents being denoted by the Greek root word αγαπαο (Latin: agapao) and referring to conviction to surrender to God through your child, with said conviction stemming from reverent fear. Child surrender then meant closeness to mothers especially, with children swaddled to their mother's bosom, with children breastfeeding until age 3, with children securely attached to their children, with mother-child intimacy to the level of nudity. Child nudity was legal everywhere in the biblical context, and customary law set it up that way so that children could have easy access to their mothers in terms of skin-to-skin contact, which is how Christian and Jewish mothers then earned the trust of their children, laying completely naked on the bed, snuggling with their child. Mothers also didn't wear clothing when inside, which they were most of the time, attending selflessly to the children.
The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizo) and literally translated to "stirring up" children's anger and upset, as in "stirring the pot" in terms of your children's emotional welfare. The Apostle Paul here gave a command from God that prohibited all corporal punishment of children. Paul also gave pamphlets commanding attachment parenting, calling for Christian parents to sacrifice themselves to their children as Christ did, raising children in His footsteps, chastening oneself up in selfless Christian conditioning, being charitable to one's child, never punishing them or being controlling with them for anything.
The depraved and entitled pro-spanking parents will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven! Let them burn and rot in the lake of fire and burning sulfur, descending into the abyss for all eternity, with this being the second death prepared for Satan and his accomplices! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
