What is love for a child?

Many parents believe they love their children. Few actually do. Most think love is a sort of affection for a child, when it is not. True parental love for one's child is a verb, not an action.

It says in Matthew 22:35-40 KJV:

Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, saying, Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and all thy soul, and all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these hang all the Law and the prophets.

"Is like unto it" links the two commandments, meaning when you love your neighbor, you also love God. The Greek root word translated "love" is αγαπαο (Latin: agapao) and refers to being struck with reverent terror and fear of a child and her every need, as denoted by the Greek root word ψοβός (Latin: phobos), leading to conviction to surrender to God through one's child, giving up all adult power and control to the footstool of children, being convicted of one's non-existence in relation to said power and control, not knowing anything about what it means to be a child. Parents are to shield their children from blame, instead of blaming them for everything, instead blaming themselves for existing, taking up the cross for your child just as Christ did for His children, rendering oneself beneath a child, devaluing oneself to a mere caregiver and servant of children, with all of this leads to good works, for the sake of doing good towards children, expecting absolutely nothing in return, feeling grateful for all the good work done for children at the end of the day.

It says in Colossians 3:20-21 KJV:

Children, obey your parents in all things, as is well-pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they become discouraged.

The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) refers to providing custody under the Law, meaning parent supply the demands of their children, with children then resting in the love and grace of parents, owing nothing in relation to children, yet showing gratitude for the love and good works of parents by listening to the voice of parents, meaning not a punitive voice, but a reassuring, familiar voice that perks up children, and gets their attention in a way that makes them safe, with parents as safe people. The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο and literally translates to "stirring up" children, as in "stirring up the pot", meaning in the legal context of this passage, the offenses, meaning the slightest of offense perceived by a child, coming from entitled attitudes towards children by adults. These offenses were simply understood as personal slights, but were a complex set of torts and damages that included assault and battery protections for children as well as adults.

Love is providing for a child, with the same reverence for the child's vulnerability as one would have for God (Matt. 19:14; 25:31-46). This is the ideal goal of attachment parenting, meaning total acceptance of one's child coming from total submission to the child's every need. This was the parenting attitude of ancient Jewish culture. Parenting instinct, at the raw level, is reverent in nature, in a grounding, comfortable way, meaning your child peaceably keeps you in line, and calls the orders as to what they need, with the response being "anything, my dear" or a similar statement. That was how parents saw their children in ancient Israel and adjoining churches.

The depraved and entitled parents will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Let them burn in the lake of fire and brimstone, which is the second death prepared for Satan and his accomplices! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
