Why not to antisocial "hover": Avoiding being pushy with children

What is antisocial "hover"? Many parents abuse their children this way. I myself am a victim of child abuse of this kind. My father would hover over me, trying to stop me from doing things that, in retrospect, were dangerous, but dealt with the danger in a punitive, controlling way. Authoritative parenting can be visualized by the survivor of such parenting as warmth next to a stop sign, with "NO" replacing the normal peacekeeper "STOP", meaning explanation refused by parenting, usually referring to antisocial "hovering" from the parent. You have good times, for sure, but tend to only remember the bad times as a survivor of abuse within the law. It is a policing impression in the home, and the false impression of warmth and caring for a child when the parent appears as a hothead and a sociopath to the child.

"Hover" refers to a visceral feeling that a child gets from their parents, where parents are trying to control their child's movements and overly prompt them, while not letting them prompt themselves to do the right thing. This sort of action comes from parental entitlement, as denoted by the Greek root word πλεονέκτης (Latin: pleonektés) and refers to wanting to direct and prompt a child, to the point of seeking to impose said want onto a child, leading to offense from the child, usually in terms of discomfort or protest. It says in Colossians 3:21 KJV:

Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they become discouraged.

The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizo) and refers to the offenses, meaning whatever the child finds offensive, and ultimately to the torts and damages system under the Mosaic Law linked to the Eighth Commandment. This can also include the overbearing emotion of parents hovering over children. It is a feeling of a tower over you, but one that gives instructions "for your own good", justifying it by either punishment or a "positive behavior plan", meaning rewards and stickers leading to punishment by way of removal.

Children in ancient Israel were only monitored closely due to the dangers involved, namely snakes, scorpions, and hot sand that would burn their feet. The modern climate in Israel is temperate, much like here in Pennsylvania, but was very arid, in the form of a desert (showing that the climate is always changing). Even then, children were often allowed to range next to parents, playing within the line of sight of mothers especially. freely and without adult intervention except in the case of natural hazards, where the mother would simply pick up the child. Punishing a child was illegal under Jewish law, and punishment in the adult world was only acceptable as a sentence for crime, and in the Early Church did not include any corporal or capital punishment in church ordinances and laws, as the early Christians saw a man who had to strike another person to be "in control" as out of control. A parent is to be in control of themselves, not their child. They should simply lead their child by example.

The depraved and entitled parents will not inherit the Kingdom of God, and will be cast into the lake of burning sulfur meaning the fire of Hell on their last day, which is the second death prepared for Satan and his accomplices! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!

2. Imposes want to the point of imposition, meaning entitlement.
3. Contains self-entitled parent rhetoric, to the point of self-victimization

will not be published. Flexible application. Debate is allowed, but only civil arguments that presume the best of intentions in their opponent, on both sides.
