Reverent rebellion, reverent submission, and the rights of children - qualities of true biblical obedience to parents

American conservatism is based on the concept of reverent rebellion, meaning rebellion against the establishment, meaning questioning the establishment. Many parents do not want their children to think for themselves, red or blue. Conservatism is the base way of thinking in the United States, but many conservatives get the Fifth Commandment wrong.

The true biblical teaching for parenting is based on the concept of mutual submission. It says in Ephesians 6:1-3 KJV:

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor thy father and mother, as this is the first commandment with promise. May it be well with thee, and thou mayest live long upon the earth.

The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and refers to secure rest and security in the care, support, and protection of parents, owing absolutely nothing in return This means being able to say anything to parents, and share anything and everything about your identity to your parents. Even things that most people would not understand, and may stigmatize. I can tell my mother anything, and she would just listen. This is called secure attachment, and it is a part of attached, gentle parenting. It can be measured by how much you keep away from your parents, especially in early childhood. Most children in this country keep things away from parents, whereas in attachment parenting, you can tell your parents everything. Christian love for a child is denoted by the Greek root word translated αγαπαο (Latin: agapao) and refers to sacrificing for your child, just as Christ sacrificed Himself for His children, rendering oneself beneath their child, being a servant to one's child in a shamefaced, humble way, expecting absolutely nothing in return.

Reverent rebellion is an aspect of reverent submission to parents. Reverent rebellion to parents involves the fact that parents are safe people to talk to, and say anything with. This means children have the right to question the instruction of their parents, meaning debate them, meaning argue with them if necessary. In an abusive home, children don't even need to respect their parents, as parents obviously aren't showing respect towards children. Reverent rebellion might come in the form of pro-social assault, from a child source, meaning physical self-defense from parental assaults or abuse. This means use enough force to quell an abusive parent, and defend yourself, and then stop immediately.

Reverent submission is something related to reverent rebellion. It is gratitude that parents earn, meaning that you are lucky to have the parents you have, because so many other parents treat their children abusively, in a horrific manner that makes one cling to the side of one's non-abusive, gentle parents. This gratitude might lead to reverent defense, meaning going to bat for your parents, not like a gate, but like a martyr, much like how their parents would defend them. It is a state where you go down for your parents, and you don't care. You look like a rabid animal to the person dishonoring your parents, and you stand by your parents, and you don't care. It is a form of pro-social psychopathy, meaning you defend your parents no matter what. It is a fighting sort of submission that defends with the parents, and ends with the parents, meaning that's where the child goes at the end of the fight. Always.

The depraved and entitled parents who provoke their children to anger will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Let them languish in the lake of fire and brimstone, suffering the second death! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
