Many people do not understand what it means to honor parents, as a command from God. Most here at gentle parenting do not like certain parts of the Bible, due to severe religious trauma. The Fifth Commandment says to honor your father and mother.
It says in Exodus 20:17 KJV:
Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God hath given thee.
This commandment is given to legal adults, and does not command blind obedience to parents, as that would be blasphemy. This can refer to lawless and immoral behavior and entitled attitudes leading to parents being suspected of abuse. In ancient Jewish culture, being a stubborn and rebellious son was illegal, but not prosecuted generally because parents had to gather evidence for themselves, with the religious authorities simply being for hire. The parents had to gather at least three, and at the most six, material witnesses to criminally heinous acts committed by the young man, and only then could corporal punishment take place - as a preliminary warning to a death penalty for offenses against parents...This command does not apply to small children at all. Instead, commands such as Colossians 3:21 KJV:
Children, obey your parents in all things, as is well-pleasing unto the Lord.
The Greek root word translated "obey" refers to υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) which refers to surrender coming from surrender from parents. The Greek root word denoting Christian love is αγαπαο (Latin: agapao) and refers to surrender to the child in terms of knowing how evil and wicked one is as a parent to said child, knowing that one will never understand their lowly and oppressed place as a child, leading to the parent being a mere servant to the child, serving their every need, expecting absolutely nothing in return, thus being grateful for the mere existence of one's children/ Children respond with trust and affection, showing affinity and friendship to parents, meaning that which is earned and not demanded as a "parental right"...I want nothing from a child, as I am entitled to nothing from her, thus grateful for any kindness and trust from her.
I honor my mother, meaning she's a good mother, and wouldn't punish me for any problem I disclosed to her. The entitled parents - the specks and spoogs who hate children and abuse them - will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!

Any comment that
1. Endorses child abuse (including pornography of such)
2. Imposes want to the point of imposition, meaning entitlement.
3. Contains self-entitled parent rhetoric, to the point of self-victimization
will not be published. Flexible application. Debate is allowed, but only civil arguments that presume the best of intentions in their opponent, on both sides.
