Original sin: Why this is a misunderstood teaching (why adults have a wicked and depraved sin nature)

The doctrine of original sin is one of the most misunderstood teachings in the Christian faith, and also one of the most misused. Yet, it remains the backbone of Christianity, meaning if original sin did not exist, Christ would have died for nothing. The doctrine of original sin stands. However, adults should be singled out for their sins, not children, as children are not subject to the Law.

The Greek root word denoting entitlement in the New Testament, and cross-referencing the Tenth Commandment, is πλεονέκτης (Latin: pleonektés) and refers officially to parental entitlement, or want from or of children, to the point of imposition. Unofficially, it refers to wanting anything from a child. But, don't we all, as depraved and entitled adults, want things from children? It is the core of our depraved and entitled sin nature to want things from children.

On the other hand, the Greek root word παιδεία (Latin: paideia) refers to a specific standard of Christian discipline, which starts with admission of one's sin nature, and ends with the attitude that one is entitled to nothing in life, and is to be grateful for everything they are given, leading to chastening oneself up in the Lord. "Chastening starts out grievous, but reaps rewards" (see Heb. 12:11). Children should be taught to chasten up themselves, by observing parents chastening themselves up in the Lord, and wanting to join in. There is no need to chasten children up, as they are capable, and should, impose chastisement on themselves. Parents should serve as a chastened up example for their children.

The centerpiece of an attached Christian parenting relationship is Christian love, as denoted by the Greek root word αγαπαο (Latin: agapao). This refers to Christian Agape love for children, or prioritizing children first, and yourself as a parent last, to the point of dutiful and selfless submission to children and their every vulnerable need, expecting absolutely nothing in return from children or others, with children resting safely and securely in these good works. See Colossians 3:20-21 KJV:
Children, obey your parents in all things: as this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and refers to secure, vulnerable rest in the love and grace of parents. This form of respect for parents does not come from fearful compliance, but from restful trust in parents, with children telling parents anything and everything that is on their mind, including admissions of wrongdoing or non-conforming traits, expecting absolutely no punishment or reprisal in return. In this loving and affirming environment, children generally want to take after their parents, wanting to be like parents or at least one parent (usually the parent of the same sex), then following the example of parents. Children will not get your example right away. They will get up, fall down, cry about it, then get back up and try again. Children are emotionally labile due to their immature emotional development, and thus when they don't listen to instructions, they may not be ready to follow instructions due to their immature brain development. Eventually, upon becoming a young adult usually, children follow the example of parents, carrying on the Living Example of Christ to the next generation. The Early Christians carried on the Living Example of Christ from generation to generation, meaning parents were extensions of Christ working for a Godhead which is children. When you allow a child to flourish in warmth and love, they want to be like you, and want to be your friend, even if they have their moments. Don't we all as flawed human beings?

The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizo) and refers to damages or abuse, including child abuse in this context. Child abuse, under biblical law, at minimum, is defined as the slightest of personal offense perceived by the child, including the slightest of offensive touch or speech perceived by the child, coming from entitlement. In this commandment, the Apostle Paul was lifting up the Law against punishment and controlling demeanor towards children, rebuking Greek Christian parents for bringing their pagan custom of spanking children into the church. Christian parents of Greek origin were misusing the book of Proverbs to justify their punishment habits even in the 1st Century, when this passage was recorded. Paul was warning that Proverbs is simply wisdom literature - a list of wise sayings - and not a parenting manual. The rod verses - all seven of them - do not refer to raising children, but to an ancient, archaic legal practice within Judaism, meaning a father appointed by the criminal court to administer judicial corporal punishment to an ADULT child in the form of 40 minus 1 lashes, as a last resort before putting the offender to death for re-offending. Whippings were rare in biblical times, and executions even more rare, with many of the death sentences not being carried out even once in the Old Testament. Whipping a MINOR child was prohibited because a minor child could not stand trial for any criminal act or civil wrong that they committed. In the Early Church, the 40 minus 1 lashes was never applied, with Law being enforced by way of pro-social non-association.

Every single adult is guilty in relation to children, and is deserving of DEATH and DESTRUCTION merely for existing in relation to children. All adults are capable of child abuse under the right/wrong conditions, and that is our entitled nature in relation to children. The sin nature of parents and adults is an entitled thread encased by an encasement. We are not born with the right knowledge to raise or care for children, and need to gather the right knowledge from the right sources. The right knowledge should lead to the encasement tensing up in non-entitlement, not becoming an entitled sponge.

I myself am a depraved and entitled adult who suffers from pedophilia, and am deserving of DEATH and PUNISHMENT merely for existing in relation children with my wicked and entitled sin nature in relation to children. A child owes me nothing, and I want nothing from them. I simply want to be around children, and enjoy their company. I am grateful that most children trust me and even care about me, as I am deserving of nothing from a child. I am deserving of everything bad and rejecting from children, and nothing good and accepting, because we as adults have wronged and abused children since time immemorial.

Children have a flawed nature, but aren't guilty of sin because they have not attained the age of majority, and thus are not subject to the Law. In biblical times, only legal adults could be prosecuted for a moral crime. The doctrine of original sin is for oneself as the parent or adult to self-reflect on one's own moral deficits. Point the finger at a child, and four more are pointing at you.

The depraved and entitled parents who provoke children to anger will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Let them be cast into the lake of fire and burning sulfur, which is the second death prepared for Satan and his accomplices! Let them descend into the abyss which is the ever-burning Hell of fire and torment, suffering God's Wrath forever and ever! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
