Pro-social nudity, pro-social freedom: How child nudity improves the parent-child bond

Many parents think that children should wear clothes, and leave it at that. This is a common belief among parents that may hold some validity, but there is also validity to children not wearing clothing. Children should be free to be undressed and naked as they choose, to the degree that they choose, and should not be forced to wear clothing in a family home.

Christian love is the core of all Christian parenting, and is denoted by the Greek root word αγαπαο (Latin: agapao). Christian love is the act of putting children first, and parents last, in a convicted way that leads to dutiful and selfless submission to children and their every vulnerable need, expecting absolutely nothing in return from children or others, with children resting safely and securely in parents. See Colossians 3:20-21 KJV:

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they become discouraged.

The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and refers to secure, vulnerable rest in the love and grace of parents. This form of respect does not come from fearful compliance, but from restful trust in parents, with children telling parents anything and everything that is on their mind, even showing up naked in front of parents, expecting absolutely no punishment whatsoever. Attachment parenting was the established norm throughout biblical times. Think a Christian mother holding pales of water, with a young child being wrapped up next to her bosom in swaddling blankets, and an older child being strapped to the back of her mother in a papoose bag, with both children being naked as the day they were born, and with children running around while naked. In Ancient Israel and the Early Church both, children went naked everywhere they went.

The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizo) and refers to damages or abuse, namely child abuse in this context. This refers to the slightest of personal offense perceived by the child, including the slightest of offensive touch or speech perceived by the child, coming from entitlement. In this commandment, the Apostle Paul was lifting up the Law against punishing or being controlling with your own child, rebuking Greek Christians who misused the book of Proverbs for their own pro-spanking bias. The common habit of spanking children does not come from the Bible, but from Ancient Greco-Roman bias when translating the Bible into Latin, meaning the mistranslated words in the Bible come from Latinate sources, and Proverbs itself was mistranslated to suit the European bias towards whipping children. "Child" in Proverbs refers to a young man, meaning an ADULT child, who was whipped with 40 minus 1 lashes after being convicted in a court of law of a capital offense, meaning no whipping could ever happen then without a trial, and no child under the age of majority could ever be put on trial for crimes that they committed.

Child nudity was the norm in Ancient Israel and the Early Church. Children went naked everywhere they went, and this served two purposes that were related - allowance for easy skin-to-skin closeness and intimacy with mothers, and lowering the levels of attachment in a home down to full equality. Parents "grew up with" their children, meaning related to children in an immature yet guiding way, perhaps playing on their level, but nonetheless guiding children by giving children a disciplined example to look up to - parents knelt down to their child's level when relating to them, being playful like their child was, but otherwise had discipline in a way that children could look up to and take after. The more mature the child was, the more mature the interaction was, meaning the child and parent clicked and got along fine as equals. Whenever you introduce child nudity to the house, there is a righteous allure that allows for intimate and sustaining closeness that forms a secure parent-child bond...The context contained here may be a bit dated, but most of it can be applied today, maybe with some tweaking.

Today, I would discourage public child nudity, as that is against the law. However, snuggling with your own child, as a mother, while both of you are in the nude, is legal under the English common law and statutory criminal laws in all 50 states, as long as there is no sexual intent behind the interaction. Fathers, or mothers attracted to their children, should not do this, as well as parents with children with a reverse attraction to a parent, meaning keep the clothes on them if they are attracted to you. Leave it to mothers to bond with children that way, as fathers surely will have some attraction to their children once socialized with them at the equal level. A pedophile sees children at the equal level - I myself have the disorder, and see children as equals with a connotational "sun tan spray" attraction, idealizing children by denying myself of them. Parents in biblical times also denied themselves of their children to some degree, meaning they viewed their children as not owing them anything.

The depraved and entitled parents who provoke children to anger will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Let them be cast into the lake of fire and burning sulfur, which is the second death prepared for Satan and his accomplices! Let them descend into the abyss which is the ever-burning Hell of fire and torment, suffering God's Wrath forever and ever! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
