Pro-social deification, pro-social child worship: Why biblical times were child worshipping times

Many parents think biblical times were harsh times for children, and that children were treated harshly in biblical times. This is a common mistake among American parents, as biblical times were child worshipping times. Ancient Israel and adjoining churches were child worshipping cultures.

Jesus Christ stated in Matthew 25:45-46 KJV:

Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not for the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

What Jesus was referring to here was pro-social child worship. Children are the "least of these" in relation to adults, and thus are extensions of God. Children in ancient Israel and adjoining cultures were deified, meaning seen as godly and holy, in an imperfect way that was nonetheless lovable and worthy of affection. Children were seen as next to God in biblical times, and parents feared their children with reverent fear and terror, with children demanding and petitioning for needs and a redress of grievances. However you treated children in biblical times is how you treated God, as children were in place of God.

Every single parent and adult is guilty in relation to children, and is deserving of DEATH and DESTRUCTION in relation to children merely for existing in relation to children, with parents/adults being meek and shamefaced in relation to children, being silent on the cue and consent of the child, only speaking to or around children with their given consent. Parents especially should esteem their child over everyone else, prioritizing children first, and themselves last, to the point of dutiful and selfless submission to the every need of children, expecting absolutely nothing in return from children or anyone else. Children are to rest in this love and grace from parents. See Colossians 3:20-21 KJV:

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and refers to secure, vulnerable rest in the love and grace of parents. Attachment parenting was the norm in biblical times, with mothers holding their children close to their bosom, wrapping them up in swaddling blankets, breastfeeding them at least until they turn 3, with children remaining in intense closeness to mothers until age 6, being nourished by mother's breastmilk and sustenance. Children older than age 6 also occasionally clung to mothers intermittently while playing freely or doing schoolwork (most Christian children were homeschooled). Closeness was the main short-term goal in ancient Hebrew and Christian societies. The main long-term goal was independence, not obedience, as attachment parenting, at some point, leads to children shaking off the closeness of their parents, pleasing parents with feats of independence. Think pales of water from a nearby creek, and the young child fastened to the mother in swaddling blankets - that was how biblical parenting was done.

The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizo) and refers to an offense perceived by a child, namely the slightest of personal offenses perceived by the child, including the slightest of unwanted touch perceived by the child. This is intended by the Apostle Paul and the surrounding legal context as a commandment against all forms of punishments and controlling measures, including spanking and corporal punishment. The Apostle Paul was rebuking Greek Christians for bringing their pagan custom of spanking children into the church, and justifying it with several verses in Proverbs. The seven verses in Proverbs that depict the rod of correction are repealed verses, as they simply reference a dated form of judicial corporal punishment not found in the Early Christian church - the 40 minus 1 lashes with the rod of correction, which was applied only to ADULT children, in a courtroom setting. The words in Proverbs translated "child" refer to adult children, not minor children. Minor children could not be charged with a criminal offense or civil wrong under the Law, as they were not expected to be able to form the intent to violate the Law, and there was no exception to this legal defense of infancy - they had to be legally adults in order to be legally competent to stand trial.

Children were seen in biblical times as next to God. Children were seen as signs of God, and feeding and nourishing the needs of children was seen the same as giving God what He needed/wanted. Children were seen as holy and godly individuals, with their vulnerability being convicting to adults in ancient Hebrew and Christian societies. Children were vulnerable yet outspoken, in a convicting way to parents, in a form of secure attachment called policing attachment. Children laid down the Law in place of God, and the Law in this context meant whatever the child needed or wanted. Children then got most of what they wanted, and some of what they needed instead, but the latter usually involved a compromise of some sort that the child agreed to.

How does this work in person? It is a form of total acceptance of your child, where they are in place of God in your life, and their needs are seen as divine decrees or orders as to what you need to do for them, in order to appease them and keep them happy. It is keeping the deity in the child happy so they don't take over your life. That is how parents saw children in ancient Israel - happy child, happy life. The idea was to keep children at bay by keeping them satisfied and content. Children them could become very aggressive if their needs weren't met, so parents drew a line in the sand with their sacrifice, ensuring children were happy so they didn't strike out at parents or throw a crying fit. This was seen as appeasing God through one's child in ancient Israelite culture and adjoining churches. Some of this context is not applicable, but most of it is relevant just as it was in the 1st Century.

The depraved and entitled parents will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Let them burn in the lake of fire and burning sulfur, which is the second death prepared for Satan and his accomplices! Let them descend into the lake of Hell-fire and torment, suffering God's Wrath forever and ever! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
