What child submission means in the Bible

Many people think children should be compliant and obedient blindly to adults, and if they do not comply with adults, they are punished and shamed. The Bible has a concept of child submission, but it is not at all like this.

Every single parent is deserving of DEATH and PUNISHMENT merely for existing in relation to children, being convicted of their parental duties, then dutifully submitting to the every need of children, expecting absolutely nothing in return from children, with children resting in the Chrstian love of parents, as stated in Colossians 3:20-21 KJV:

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing to the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they become discouraged.

The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and refers to children resting in the love and grace of parents, with children resting in maternal warmth and sustenance. Attachment parenting was the norm in biblical times, throughout the biblical context, with children being wrapped up in swaddling clothes next to their mothers, with this closeness lasting into adulthood. Children were weaned from nourishment from their mother's breast at age 3. Children rested in the loving arms of parents, snuggling with mothers, resting in the protection of fathers, getting gentle encouragement from both fathers and mothers.

The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizo) and refers to provocations to anger, meaning any and all offenses against children, as defined as the slightest of offense perceived by the child. This commandment was intended by the Apostle Paul to prohibit all punishment or control of children, including physical and other forms of punishment, control, or harshness. Paul here was admonishing Greek Christian parents who brought in their pagan and idolatrous custom of spanking children, which was defensible under Roman law, but never Jewish law. Pro-spanking parents were put to death in the Old Testament after enduring 40 minus 1 lashes from the rod of correction - the same rod of correction mentioned repeatedly in the book of Proverbs. Solomon was talking about judicial corporal punishment of ADULT children. The translation of the rod verses in Proverbs is poor - the word for "child" denotes an adult child in every case.

Children rest in the love and grace of parents. They are not to be made to work for it, meaning children can tell parents how to raise them, and parents are to listen. Parents in biblical times heard out children's petitions for needs and a redress of grievances, with children resting in the shelter of parents, getting most of what they wanted, and some of what they needed instead. Child submission is a form of surrender to parents, meaning running to their arms in a symbolic stance of surrender, trusting that a parent or other similarly charged adult is going to take care of children, with children owing nothing in return for being cared for by parents. Parents should be caregivers, not lawgivers. Think changing the sheets, cleaning up messes, and nurturing and doting on children - that's true biblical parenting.

The depraved and entitled parents will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Let them burn in the lake of fire and burning sulfur, which is the second death, which is Satan's tomb! Let them descend into eternal torment, suffering God's Wrath for all eternity! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
