Righteous demand: The role of children in parenting

Many parents in the United States have certain demands for their children, meaning demands are seen as a parental role. However, true biblical parenting calls for parents to accept the demands of children. Children are demanding, and they have the right to be, even while being submissive to parents.

It says in Colossians 3:20-21 KJV:

Children, obey your parents in all things, as is well-pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they become discouraged.

The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and refers to secure, vulnerable rest in parents, being able to confide into them and be oneself in relation to parents, owing absolutely nothing in relation to children, yet nonetheless showing gratitude by hearing the voice of parents, understanding what they ask for based on developmental appropriateness of the request, leading to children listening to and heeding instruction of parents based not on fear of a parent's voice, but reassurance and familiarity in such in the form of voice imprint. This is based on Christian love, as denoted by the Greek root word αγαπαο (Latin: agapao) and refers to being convicted by God of one's depraved, entitled sin nature, leading to surrender to God through one's child (Matt. 22:35-40), giving up all adult power and control to the footstool of a child, treating them as if they are royalty, sacrificing for one's child like Christ did for His children, taking up the cross for one's children, rendering oneself beneath one's child while instructing her, devaluing oneself as a mere caregiver and servant to one's child, leading to good works, expecting absolutely nothing in return, being infinitely grateful for one's child and what they do for their child. The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizo) and is one of the Greek root words that refers to the offenses in the legal context of the Bible, referring to torts and damages under the Mosaic Law, namely assault and battery laws that extend to children in terms of protection, referenced and summed up in the New Testament as the slightest of offense perceived by the child.

Children had the right to demand anything from parents in the biblical contest, owing nothing to parents, as ancient Israel and adjoining churches were attachment parenting culture, meaning attachment parenting was the norm in such cultures. The role of the child was to control parents from beneath to get what they need. This means parents were to listen to the every emotion and upset of children, not expecting anything in return, in a way that earned respect and compliance from children, being their friend, starting from day one, but a more mature, responsible friend that looks out for the smaller child. Children demand, and parents supply based on the child's demand, and the diagnostics involved. This is how parenting was done in the biblical context, and so that is how it should be done now, and all of this is uplifted by the above quoted passage in the Bible.

The depraved and entitled parents who provoke children to anger through punitive or permissive parenting will not inherit the Kingdom of God! They will instead be cast into the ever-burning lake of fire and brimstone, which is the second death prepared for Satan and his accomplices! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
