Why parent anger is sin: Christ's teaching against lashing out at children

Most all, if not all parents, get angry at their child. Most yell, most spank. some beat or rape their children out of parental entitlement. Parental entitlement is the number one cause of child abuse in the United States, with literally each and every abuser being entitled in some way, to some degree. This platform uses the anti-entitlement system to profile child abusers, with most being entitled in the form of parent anger.

God's definition of child abuse is denoted in Colossians 3:21 KJV:
Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they become discouraged.

The Greek root word translated "provoke...to anger" is ερεθιζο (Latin: erethizo) and literally translates to "stir up" and is one of the Greek root words that refers to the offenses in the Mosaic legal context, which are summed up in an implied way in the New Testament, meaning the slightest of personal slights perceived by a child victim, stemming from entitlement. The Greek root word denoting entitlement is πλεονέκτης (Latin: pleonektés) and refers not only to wanting something from a child, but wanting things to the point of seeking to impose said want onto children, leading to the offense. It is the parental attitude of "I am a good, loving parent, so I have the right to get angry with my child".

Fits of anger at a child are entitlement. Christ said on the Sermon on the Mount, in Matthew 5:21-22 KJV:

Ye have heard it of them of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment. But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whomever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

"Without a cause" refers to righteous judgment, meaning only between adults. Under Jewish law, children could not be prosecuted, and this applies today, thus fits of anger directed towards your child show God that you are an out of control parent, thus entitled. Once the child is offended by the parent anger, it is abuse, and the whole entitled intent leading to the moral crime is the abuse in and of itself.

Many adults get fits of anger towards children. I myself may not understand, as my struggle as a parent is getting angry with children in the first place, meaning I just might say "I don't like what she said" meaning I don't agree, calmly. I get fits of anger, perhaps, around the child. Most adults are angry at children, and my advice to you is simply to let the angry thoughts float by in a restraining way, and channel that energy elsewhere. Note where the anger came from, meaning not your child, but an abusive parent and/or other in childhood.

The depraved and entitled parents who control and punish children with their fits of anger, thus provoking them to anger, will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Let them suffer in the lake of fire and brimstone, suffering the second death for all eternity! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
