Pro-social pedophilia, pro-social rebellion - Understanding biblical parenting from its context

Many parents believe in so called "biblical parenting", meaning false biblical parenting that advocates violence and entitlement using an anti-entitlement document and framework. Most parents in the United States value religious advice more than clinical advice concerning parenting, whereas it is the reverse in many European countries. Pro-social pedophilia was the parenting norm in biblical times, in a pro-social rebellion context, very different from how American clergy understand the subject of parenting.

It says in Colossians 3:20 KJV:

Children, obey your parents in all things, as is well-pleasing unto the Lord.

The Greek root word translated "obey" is υπακουο (Latin: hupakouo) and refers to surrender coming from surrender from a parent, in the form of submission to the every vulnerable need of children as their enemy, just as mankind is the enemy of God, and must therefore submit as such, expecting absolutely nothing in return.

This submission to children involves pro-social pedophilia, meaning parents breaking themselves down, and humbling themselves to their child in a silent, quiet, patient way that allows for children to be open and transparent about who they are with their parent. Pro-social rebellion means being able to disagree with a parent, sometimes quite strongly, and not expect punishment. No relationship is without dispute, and in a healthy parent-child bond, the shockwave of the argument should trickle down, and not escalate, particularly with older children and teens.

Parenting in the biblical context replicated these principles. Mothers stayed close to their children, and ranged them next to her, meaning they had free range within a short area, where she would then drag them back, but WITHOUT punishment. That is because children were legal persons, and striking any individual outside of a courtroom setting was illegal in the Old Testament, and illegal regardless in the Early Christian churches. Instead, parents listened, and held younger children on their back, with a papoose bag, perhaps when walking to the market, picking berries, and so forth. Ancient Israel was actually a hunter/gatherer society, in both the Old and New Testament, and such societies favored attachment-based solutions in parenting. Children were very vocal about who they were with mom and dad then...This is how I'd raise a child.

The depraved and entitled parents who provoke children to anger will not inherit the Kingdom of God! Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!

Why the Bible calls for expanding child abuse definitions

Many parents think that the ancients in the Bible had no concept of childhood, let alone child abuse. This is a common attitude amongst Amer...
